Echovate for Individuals

Social intelligence is the capability to effectively navigate and negotiate complex social relationships and environments. Research shows that people with strong social intelligence are more likely to succeed than those with high IQ’s (academic performance) or relevant experience.

PROBLEM:

Until Echovate™ was born; the college application process was heavily focused on academic performance and extracurricular activities. This methodology is not only inefficient; it does not correlate with student success or employability. This ‘academic performance’ only approach also creates bias and widens the divide between lower-income and higher-income students. We have the tools and science to evolve beyond an outdated process.

SOLUTION:

Taking a student-centered approach and measuring social intelligence can place value on the whole individual, not just their academic performance. We can and should understand the individuality of a person, what makes them unique and their most likely paths to success. This is a conversation that every parent should have with his or her child and admissions counselors encourage with their students. It is critical to foster early success of an individual and what environments they will thrive in and why.
